|MPLEMENTING VATICAN II Jubila.rians - In 1982 the bish- op began recognizing those reli- gious who would celebrate jubilees each year with a com- memorative Mass and recep- tion. aSSist them in updating and restructuring their organization. ! rhen asked if the sisters could have an allotment each year to Undenvrite their assembly pro- grams, Bishop McDonald offered $1,000, which became an annual subsidy and has increased over the years to meet rising costs. Team ministry was another emerging idea in the mid-70s and whole-heartedly endorsed by the bishop. Articles appeared in The Guardian (now known as Arkansas Catholic) written by priests, sisters and laity on their specific parish ministry as team members. Bishop McDonald was not hes- itant to employ sisters on the diocesan level. The first position East g congratulates Bishop McDonald on his 75th birthday and thanks him for his service to the Catholic of Little Rock. Fr. James P.
