OctOber 24, 1998 This past year, he marked the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood as a special cele- bration on May 8, 1998. Many of his fellow classmates from St. Mary Seminary in Baltimore were in attendance. On June 13, he had a special Mass celebration at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah. As his 75th birthday approach- es, Bishop McDonald is ready to lay his burden down and hand Arkansas' Catholic Church over to a worthy successor. Dr. James M.
