"World War II broke the molds of the way people lived. Vatican II responded and has made a won- derful effort to restudy and rethink the teachings of the Church and find multiple ways people can Serve. "As that process unfolds, there are some people who want to go too far and some don't want to go far enough. That does create an ongoing tension. Sometimes it's frustrating for those who want to push forward. Sometimes it's frus- trating for those who want to hold back. That puts the leader in the middle:' For 26 years Bishop McDonald has only had on-the-job training in how a bishop should act and conduct business.
