Butler, a sophomore atJonesboro High School, is the son of Joe and Susan Butler and the grandson of Josephine Butler of Jonesboro and John and Dolores Willems of Mountain Home. BRAss CHOIR: The Brass Choir of Arkansas Tech University in Russeilville will perform in the Abbey Church at Subiaco at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14. This year's ensemble includes 14 play- ers, representing eight Arkansas cities and Broken Bow, Okla. Dr. Gary Bar- row, professor of high brass, is the con- ductor. The University Brass Choir con- certs are scheduled throughout the state, including regular appearances in Little Rock churches. SPONSORSHIP: Knights of Colum- bus at St. Jude Church in Jacksonville will sponsor the St. Vincent Infirmary Clinical Laboratory team in the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation "Walk to Cure Dia- betes" in Little Rock Oct. 3. The Knights donated $50 for the cause. PRAYER GROUP: The Cenacle Prayer Group of the Marian Movement of Priests meets at 11 a.m. each Saturday in the chapel of St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Hot Springs. Everyone is welcome to attend. Mass is celebrated at 11 a.m. on first Saturdays to begin the cenacle. FUNERAL: Sixth graders at St. Jo- seph School in Conway held their annual "I Can't Funeral" on the playground Sept. 11. Teachers Melanie Kordsmeier and Barbara Muilican had each of the students write down things that they felt they could not do. They then placed their lists in a shoebox, which served as a coffin, and buried it. A tombstone with an epitaph of "I Can't RIP" hangs in their classrooms to remind them that they no longer can say "I can't." What's happening in your parish? Dedicated educators Sister Georgia Felderhoff, OSB, fifth grade teacher at St. Michael School in West Memphis, accepts a plaque recognizing her 50 years in education during Professional Day Sept. 25 at Catholic High School in Little Rock. Dr. Mike Rockers, su- perintendent, is to her left. Bettye Francis, a science teacher at Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock, was recognized for 25 years in edu- cation.
