PAGE 4 ARKANSAS CATHOLIC SEPIEMBER30, By Judy Hoelzeman The Sr. CYO of Immaculate Con- ception in North Little Rock sponsors a parish aluminum can collection one Sunday a month. The collection date is printed in the bulletin and a truck is parked next to the parish center, where donors can deposit their cans. Mem- bers of the CYO crush, bag and sell the Cans. The money is then donated to the Helping Hand outreach or to Our House shelter for the homeless. The last collection brought in $193. At last spring's state CYO convention, the group received an award for outstand- ing service to Helping Hand. On the first Sunday of each month, Immaculate Conception's Sr. CYO will "sponsor" the 5 PM Mass. Members of the group will serve as lectors, altar servers, Eucharistic Ministers, ushers and liturgy planners, and they will sit together at the Mass. Kim Eden is CYO president. Adult Advisor is Anita Ward. All young people ages 13 to 17 of the Southwest and Southeast CYO Deaneries are invited to a Southern Arkansas Youth Rally, hosted by Holy Redeemer parish in E1 Dorado, on Sat., Oct. 6. The half-day event begins with registration at 12:30 PM at Holy Re- deemer School, and includes a program presented by The Arkansas Leadership Team, Mass at 5 PM, supper at 6 PM and a dance from 7 until 10:30 PM. The cost for the day is $3 per person to be paid at registration. Blessed Sacrament parish in Jonesboro will hold its tenth annual Fall Festival on Sat., Oct. 6, beginning at 10 AM. Parishioners have been hard at work for months on handmade arts and crafts, all of which will be on sale at the Crafts Bazaar. Other attractions include HBW5 a chicken barbecue meal, ($4 for adults, $2 for children, free for those 6 and .... under), Country Store, Childrens' Carnival, and a Tea Room with home baked pies, cakes and cookies. There will be a silent auction from 10 AM to 5 PM, and a Live Auction at 7 PM. All are invited to join Blessed Sacrament parishioners in this celebration and fundraiser.
