The series is a joint venture of the New York archdiocesan Con- fraternity of Christian Doctrine; the United Lutheran Churches of America, producers of the shows, and the Council of Churches of the City of New York. Entitled "Davey and Goliath," the series concerns the day-to- day experiences of ahoy, involving the presentation of a traditional Christian lesson. What makes the series unusual is a teacher (parent) guideline booklet, compiled by Sister Anne Flood of the CCD staff. The book- let contains a short summary of each program in the order of scheduled telecasts; a set of dis- cussion questions, and a "mess- age" of each Davey and Goliath ad- venture. Father William J. Tobin, assis- tant director of the archdiocesan CCD, said the aim of the project is to have the children watch the show, and to have them quizzed by their parents later on in the day. Diego, the diocesan consultors, a member of the priests' senate and Father Raymond Maher, bro- ther of Bishop Maher. The diocese of San Diego will also mark the bicentennial of the first Mass in California on the occasion of Bishop Maher's in- stallation. IRINKLEY- St. Jelm'| Church.
