Host Families Being Sought For Students San Clemente, Calif. -- Youth Exchange Service (YES), a non-profit educational organization, is inviting families in all 50 "states of the Union to open their homes and hearts to an international high school student from Europe, Japan, South and Central America, or Mexico. Host family applications are being ac- cepted at this time for high school students 15 to 18 years old scheduled to arrive in January, 1983, for the second semester. The students are carefully selected, have excellent medical insurance and bring their own spending money. Host family respon- sibilities are to provide a bed and meals and to accept the student as a member of the family. The YES program fosters goodwill and friendship between Americans and peoples of other nations through the enriching ex- perience of inter-cultural exchange. The new Mount St. Mary Convent, located at Kavanaugh Boulevard and Hillcrest, is constructed of weathered brick in three units, connected through solaria designed to serve as sitting rooms. The central unit houses the chapel, community living room, parlor, dining room, kitchen, guest suite and en- trance halls. The end units each contain eight bedrooms, bathrooms, sitting room with TV, phone booth and storage closets. There are also five bedrooms in the upstairs section of the central building. Weaver and Hiegel Associated Architects and the Nabhoiz Construction Company erected the new Sisters of Mercy Convent, in which use was made of many furnishings, stained glass windows and cherished memorabilia from the old main building, now vacated.
