During Sr. Jacob's early retirement years, she traveled to St. Mary in Barling on weekends as their organist. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters and she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Sr. Jerome Jacobs, OSB Sr, Jerome Jacobs, OSB, dies at 92 in Fort Smith Fort Smith - Sr. Jerome Jacobs, OSB, of St. Scholastica Monastery died July 30 at the age of 92. She was born in Verona, MO, in 1897 to the late George and Mary Anna Hoening Jacobs. She entered St. Scholastica's in 1912 and professed her vows in 1917. Sr. Jacobs began teaching in 1913 and spent over 50 years teaching in and around various schools in Arkansas and Texas until she retired to the convent in 1970. She taught in Shoal Creek, Morrison Bluff, St. Vincent, Center Ridge, Bigelow and Marche in Arkan- sas. She also taught 18 years in Nazareth, TX. She retui-ified to Marche in 1974 and Sr. Edward Gilmore, OSB Sr, Edward Gilmore, OSB, dies in Fort Smith at 94 Fort Smith - Sr. Edward Gilmore, OSB, of St. Scholastica Monastery died Aug. 7 at the age of 94. Born in 1896 to the late William and Josephine Seaber Gilmore of Little Rock, she entered St. Scholastica's in A Symbol To Depend On.
