Mildred Dunn, OSB, dies at 92 in Fort Smith Fort Smith - Sr. Mildred Dunn, OSB, of St. Scholasfica Monastery died July 20 at the age of 92. She was born in Little Rock in 1898 to the late Edwin and Mathilda Dutdinger Dunn. She professed her vows in 1918 and spent 46 years as a music teacher in Fort Smith, Little Rock and Fayetteville. In her eulogy, St. Jane Frances Brockman, OSB, recalled that St. Dunn was best known for her success in teaching piano. She won wide recognition as a piano teacher of su- perb ability. She was a member of the Mu- sical Coterie of Fort Smith, the Arkansas Teachers Association, National Guild of Piano Teachers and National Music Teachers Association. She received the Pi- ano Teacher of Year award from the State Music Teachers Association in 1981. St. Dunn retired in 1986 but kept in touch with her students. Survivors include a sister, Marie Moss of Richmond, CA, and a brother, John Dunn of Napa, CA. A sister, St. Pauline Dunn, OSB, also of SL Scholastica, preceded her in death.
