Jim Schratz Members of Amnesty International, the Arkansas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and local churches recently gathered at the state capitol to mark the 15th anniversary of the reinstatement of the death penalty. White crosses marked the 171 people who have died by execution in Arkansas since 1913. In a statement, Amnesty International said that the U.S. is the last Western democracy to carry out executions, and that the country should "execute justice, not people."
