The comic level is uniformly low, and so is the moral tone. (B) MONDAY, JULY 8 (ABC) -- VILLA RIDES (1968) - Buzz Kulik directed this violent Western, Mexican the menacing Mexican revolutionary and Robert Mitchum as a tough American gun-runner. Mildly offensive. (B) TUESDAY, JULY 9 (ABC) - THE ELEVATOR - Crime-suspense thriller in- volves an elevator-load of robbers, loot and office workers that gets stuck during an escape from a hi-rise office building. James Farentino, Carol Lynley star. standout performer. (B) SATURDAY, JULY 13 (ABC) -- CRY PANIC - Made- for-TV film is a suspense thriller about a motorist who runs down a pedestrian in a small midwestern town he's driving through. Stopping and then going for help, the man discovers that no one wants to help him -- and worse, the body has disappeared. The library, located in the RE office at St. John's Catholic Center, Little Rock, contains audio-visual materials, various Bibles and other books, all of which may be borrowed for use in the diocese. There also is a collection of catalogued pictures and a display of recommended text books, as well as a variety of pamphlets, available at small cost. Attractive wall decorations are the work of Miss Lisa Gorman. In blessing the library, Father Riddell, former diocesan coordinator for religious education, substituted for His Excellency Bishop Andrew J. McDonald, who was out of the state. N.Y. Illegal Alien Bill Vetoed Albany, N.Y. (NC) -- New York Governor Malcolm Wilson vetoed a bill which would have made it a crime to knowingly employ illegal aliens, and which came under strong attack by this state's Catholic com- munity. Father Anthony J. Bevilacqua, director of the Brooklyn diocesan migration office, had publicly criticized the bill and, in a telegram, urged the governor to veto the legislation because it was "anti- Catholic and discriminates particularly against Hispanics."
