It may seem early to talk about gas for heating purposes, but: It is important that your pipes and appliances are I i i :ii ;i ii r im e r :mies n t exam 'e are Many houses have the small 1-2 or 3-4 inch service pipes originally put in for artificial gas to serve a single cook stove and lights. The same pipes are in use serve perhaps half a dozen stoves or heaters the conse- quence being that in cold weather, when there is a large consumption of gas, your pressure is low. No service pipe should be less than 1 1-4 inch, and the other pipes from the meter should be graded down according to the number of appliances used. Flues-- It is essential that flues be free of obstruction so as to give a good upward draft and afford perfect combustion. Burners and Connections-- Burners should be cleaned, they should be of the right kind and properly adjusted. are properly made and you will get the best service.
