FILL THE ARK: St. Mary Parish in Hot Springs sponsored a Fill the Ark project for Heifer Project International during Advent. Parishioners filled small banks provided by HPI. To promote the project, Ron Sliger and Arlyn Bakner made an ark and rainbow for a display. During December a white dove landed on the ark and many stuffed animals appeared at the ark. A total of $4,000 was raised for HPI. The animals were donated to local agencies that help the poor. CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS: Catholic Daughters at St. Mary Church in North Little Rock provided each pa- tient at Riley's Nursing Home in North Little Rock with a Christmas gift. Twenty-five lap robes were made for residents who had no family. Wreaths and Christmas trees were distributed to other residents. Christmas tradition Former altar servers from St. Vincent de Paul Church in Rogers continued the tradition of serving at midnight Mass on Christmas. This year several altar servers who graduated from high school between 1951 to 1997 joined to- gether on the altar for the Mass.
