She was chosen based on her accom- plishments and special areas of expertise. Also in this area of health, she is a governor's appointee to serve as chairperson of the state of Arkansas Perinatal Advisory Board. Sr.Judith Marie is the president and chief executive officer of St. Edward Mercy Medi- cal Network, an integrated health network in western Arkansas that indudes a tertiary care facility, three rural hospitals, a nursing home, a residential care fadlity and a flee standing psychiatric hospital with a total network complement of 650 beds. The purpose of the Maternal and Child Health Section of the AHA is to enhance the quality of programs and services pro- vided by institutions holding AHA mem- bership and to promote appropriate access to and utilization of those services.
